Week Six Seminar:

See Proposal page.

NEED TO DO: - as of Feb 1, 2012
Additional Readings: (Max 3)

Experiences and Connections to the topics.

Create a Presentation (ie. Prezi, ppt?, webpage, other tools). My preference is Prezi but if you are familiar with SlideRocket or FlipSnack, they work well as you can add images, audio, video, other links, etc. There is also something called SpicyNodes that works well (similar to a mindmapping tool - no pictures in it though) Your thoughts?
Prezi's are a tool that I'm still trying to learn, I find it frustrating to use, but it's never a better opportunity that now to use it. I'm a little rusty with prezi's so as long as you are okay helping fix some of my errors lets develop one together.
Create guiding questions for one large group?? or small group discussions
(possibly 3 questions??) I like the one large group question, I actually think we should have one big over arching question and a few smaller ones. Small groups are hard. I like the large group format. Your thoughts?

Seminar Proposal to Patrick a minimum of a week prior to commencing of our seminar- Oooh I didn't see that- great. We should send it by the end of this week. What does he want us to give him? What should it look like?
Facilitate Discussions - (take turns responding??) Yes, I agree, or if there is an area one can answer to right away or with more depth they should just go ahead and respond

Post Summary

  • How do we prepare teachers with the necessary skills to implement technology in their curriculum?
  • How does technology affect students, both positively and negatively?

  • How does leadership (administrators, superintendent, director of technology, etc.) build technological capacity in schools when budgets are restricted?

  • How does leadership ensure that more technology equals meaningful learning and not just more 'stuff'?
  • What are the necessary building blocks that need to be in place and how can leadership use them to embrace technology?

  • How do school leaders ensure that there is equal access to technology for all students?
